Hi, hello, howdy!
Happy Monday, wherever this email may find you.
We’re hurtling towards summer here. My preschooler is officially on summer break (his parent’s day out program picks back up in June, thankyouLordJesusforsmallmercies) and my teen will be done this week.
Full transparency, I LOVE and dread this time of year. Not a brand-new sentiment, but an honest one.
Kids being home, relaxed schedules, more time together as a family—
Also.
Kids being home, relaxed schedules, more time together as a family—
As someone who loves a schedule, going off schedule is a thrill and a fear. Could we let our hair down, make some hay, get some sun?
Sure.
But could we also be cool about it? Mama’s not a cruise director.
And forget social media. Because everyone you know is doing something amazing, with someone amazing, somewhere amazing.
CONSTANTLY.
It can be a touch stressful.
So, this summer, I’m making a decision that is happening inthismoment. No more! I will commit to doing less stuff and sharing about it.
Look at us, in our house, watching a show! Look at me, at my dining room table, working! Check these kids out, on my deck, doing. nothing.
It’s a mood, and I think I’m here for it.
But don’t tell my kids because they will revolt. This is a plan that will need to be snuck into the day to day. We’ll keep this between us.

Easy-peasy! Onward.
Book 3 Moments
There are tiny Book 3 teasers today before a domino effect starts next newsletter. And then…it’s one exciting reveal after another until August.
OH! Was that the first tease? Yes, Book 3 releases August 2024!
Writing and releasing a book a year, that’s my dream! And I’m so happy to say, even with falling off schedule, it’s still happening. Book 3 out in August.
Second, who’s here for a title reveal?
Hey, thank you for that enthusiasm! You’re so kind!
The book formally known as Book 3 will be called: Here Comes Baby.
YUP.
Here Comes Baby.
And that’s a wrap!
In our next newsletter you’ll get a full-out book blurb! I worked with Jessie, the super talent behind Book Blurb Magic, and I have so many happy feelings about this new book description. It’s perfection.
Until then, catch up on my first two books and meet the characters featured in Here Comes Baby.
Keep an eye out for Liz and Michael. Those are the two you want to watch for. They’re the story for Here Comes Baby. And I love them! They’re wonderful.
Three recommendations and a Correction
First, the correction.
I reported fake news in my last email.
No, I stand by my statements on Spring. That was factual.
Remember when I said the third season of The Bear would debut June 1st? Wrong. Incorrect.
The correct date, to the best of my knowledge, is June 27th. Grrr….
In the meantime, I have two watches and one read I’d recommend.
The Idea of You, on Amazon Prime. I haven’t read the book (I know, I’m that person) but I enjoyed the movie. Stories about women at 40 falling in love are rare and I wanted to support the effort regardless of the outcome. This one pays off. Anne Hathaway is compelling whenever she’s on screen and the boy band hawtie, Nicholas Galitzine, is a sweetheart.
Brooklyn 99, an oldie now, but a goodie, is a must-watch, the inspiration for the gifs here and one of my favorite sitcoms. With eight seasons, good material is aplenty, and it gets better as it progresses. This is a true ensemble piece, working in a Brooklyn police precinct, and offering some of the most delightful quotes and phrases to add to your pop culture repertoire.
The Wake-Up Call by Beth O’Leary, my first read of the spring/summer season, was such a fun and funny book. O’Leary has a warm writing style and I’m not exactly sure what I mean when I say that, but I know it when I see it. She conveys coziness even as she creates an enemies to lovers vibe and the book slips into spicier rom-com territory. It’s her newest release and, if I were you, I’d add it to my tbr immediately.
Drop your beloved reads or watches in the comments below so we can chat! And I’d love to hear, how do you feel about summer? Happily anticipating? Quietly dreading? Mix of both? It’s a safe space here, share your thoughts.
Thank you for reading and supporting. If you enjoyed this, please hit the heart button below and feel free to share. Your presence here is a gift and I never take it for granted.
Take care, and talk soon,
Emily

I am with you on the "do-less" summer! Minus July when we go see family and then have camp. But I am definitely team chill.
