A Bouquet of Freshly Sharpened Pencils and a Blurb
New book blurb, book events, and fall reads (I hope, I hope)
Hi, hello, good day to you!
It’s especially zingy here as the weather is already reaching fallish temps, at least for the southeast. We’re not going higher than 85 this week and that. is. a win.
Though I’m doing plenty of this
because allergies August through late December.
NONETHELESS, my favorite movie friends and I are delighted to bring you more Then Comes Marriage news!
And to make sure you catch all the news as it happens, tap that subscribe button if you haven’t already! It’s free and I keep it brief.
What’s It All About?
This is a great question. The title, the characters, even the stunning cover is out there. Though just to refresh your memory
Sigh. I could just look at that all day.
But I won’t!
The next and final piece is here! And showing you is the highlight of my week!
Here you go! Then Comes Marriage back blurb as follows.
A whirlwind romance.
A chaotic family farm.
And one season to make a marriage flourish…
About to lose her rental home and half her business, single mom Iris Shepherd is at capacity for dealing with disaster. However, when her impulsive relationship with a sexy farmer suddenly shifts into “we need to talk” mode, Iris knows it's about to get worse before it gets better…until Ray proposes.
Still aglow from wedded bliss, Iris finds herself and her kids planted smack dab in the middle of Ray’s farm, with the cows, the chickens, and all of Ray’s immediate family. From her skeptical, straight-talking mother-in-law to Ray’s secretive sister and overly friendly brother, Iris can’t find her place within her new life, family, or marriage.
As the demands of farm life end the honeymoon phase, Iris and Ray struggle to stay connected. And when she continues to catch him in increasingly suspicious circumstances with The Lovely Naomi, Iris wonders: if marriage doesn’t work then what comes next?
Ooo-hoo, is there some romance, drama, and hijinks coming your way!
Upcoming Events
I’ve done a few books signings and events so far and I have to say, they’re my favorite. Nerve wracking, yes, for sure. But the thrill of seeing real life people and speaking to each other with our out loud voices? Amazing.
And to share this book with you out in the real world, here’s a list of my upcoming events (more to be added!).
Bear Den Books Book Launch & Book Signing: Oct 17th, 6:30pm
Cork & Cover Book Launch & Book Signing: Oct 21st, 11am
Union Ave Books Book Signing for the Series: Oct 29th, 3pm
If you’re a Knoxville or East TN native, I hope I can meet you in real life at one or several of these events! And to sweeten the deal, these local events will have book goodies for the giving out. SO, worth making it to one if you can.
Fall for Books
And maybe the second thing I am most anticipating this fall is taking a break from reading and rereading my own book and reading books of other people!
Finishing R. Eric Thomas’ Congratulations, the Best is Over! and my friend’s lovely book (which I can’t say more about right now) are my priorities. However, I’m hopeful to read more over the next few months so added to that list, depending on my mood, are:
Lies and Other Love Languages , Sonali Dev
How to Human, Carlos Whitaker
The Burnout, Sophie Kinsella
The Wedding Jinx, Becky Monson
Have you read any of these or is one on your TBR? Bonus points if Then Comes Marriage is on there! :-)
Take care,
Emily
